Is it just me, or does it seem that Walgreens has very few if any of the prime items listed in their sale paper? Every Sunday a.m. I get ready to hit Walgreens after church and whatever I'm looking for is sold out! I'm always told that the truck is coming on Tues., Thurs., etc,, but the desired item is never restocked! This week and two or three weeks ago, it 's the Off Clip On (have you seen the mosquitos the size of flying monkies at my house?) I have never seen one in any of the Walgreens I frequent even when it's not on sale! I'm ready to quit Walgreens, between the poor customer service and the low levels of stock, I'm beginning to think it's not worth the stress. At least when Jewel has a sale you can get most of what you want for most of the sale. Outside of skipping church (which I won't do) does anybody have any good advice for me?
TOO FUNNY!
Maybe someone should tell them about iheartwags.com so they could view their own ads ;o)))
Talked to Manager
I talked to the manager at the Libertyville Walgreens about the Off Clip-On's.
He said that corporate rarely tells them ahead of time what sales/deals will be coming out...so that they don't always know what to stock up on. If this is true I think that's ridiculous as it just adds to disgruntled patrons.
Further they can give a rain-check on the sale price but not the RR - at least that is what I was told.
CVS gives raincheck AND the ECB!
If my Buffalo Grove CVS is out of stock of a sale item, they will give me a raincheck AND write down the ECB amount I'm entitled to as well. Now that's good customer service!
All CVSs
will do that--and, their rainchecks NEVER expire! Just another reason to love them! ;)
I have often run into the same problem
but not as soon as Sunday morning. The McHenry area stores tend to be out by Monday night with trucks coming in Tuesday, Thursday. I work full time so if they restock, items may be gone by the time I can get there in the evening. I would say it's about 50% of the time RR items haven't been restocked even the following week when the RRs are no longer printing as their own warehoues may be out. I would check other Wags around you as well as getting rainchecks if there isn't a RR involve.
Perhaps it varies by area?
I am in the Downers Grove, Bolingbrook, Woodridge, Darien area and there are SO MANY Walgreens stores around here. I have not really run into too many problems finding items...perhaps because there are so many stores in the area. Perhaps there are less stores combined with more super-couponers in your area (just a guess). On occasion I had trouble finding an item and hit several Wags with no success (like when the Chinet Plates were cheap). I have more trouble at CVS and there are only two of those in the area.
Sometimes I remember to ask for a raincheck!
I've done this a couple times and it works out really well.
Arlington Hts Wag's
The store on the corner of Arlington Hts Rd and Dundee has decided they want our business....they load up on all the freebie RR items like you wouldn't believe! They go so far as to say you can do 3 transactions right in a row, no problem. That last Aquafresh and St. Ive's deal, they had multiple displays just stocked with those items :)
Perhaps those managers should
Perhaps those managers should peek at IheartWAGS to find out what specials are coming up soon and can act accordingly....
IHEARTWAGS...
I actually referred my favorite Wags cashier to the iheartwags website recently because she had been asking me when something was going on sale!
