Shop like a Star

I've been posting about the great clothing bargains that can be found post-Labor Day, and I had to share this story with you all. Many of you know that I'm a devoted KISS fan, and while I don't have too many crossovers between my coupon life and my KISS life, occasionally the two do mix.

Paul Stanley was in town this weekend for his art shows (in addition to being the greatest frontman in rock, he's also a painter and sculptor) and we were helping out KISSonline at his VIP reception and Telly Award presentation. During the event, someone mentioned they liked the shirt Paul was wearing.

Paul said "Oh! I do too. I bought it yesterday at Macy's in Chicago after I did the morning news. It was 50% off!"

Love it. Even rock stars enjoy a good sale. Paul went on to say he liked the shirt so much, he hoped there would be time to go to the Macy's at Woodfield to look for another one. (Smart shoppers do stock up on the things they like!)

My husband suggested we take a quick break and head over there with our friend from KISSonline, as it wasn't likely Paul would be able to shop before they closed ... and that's how we found ourselves picking out another shirt for our favorite singer.

Which, of course, was also 50% off.

shirt

Don't leave us hangin! Did you bring the shirt back for him? What did he say?

By the way, I will never forget the moment I met Gene Simmons over 10 years ago. I never expected it, but I was totally star-struck. He actually asked me if I was OK! Ha!

Shirt

We did - our daughter gave it to him and he said thank-you to her - which of course made her night..!

You are everywhere!

You and your story are CUTE.

Rockin' Jeans, Coupon Queen!

BTW, I love the KISS elephant at http://www.kissonline.com/!

Story

Did you see Jill wrote the lead story right now on Kiss Online too about the art awards. You are one busy woman. Rock on!

WOW!

Who gets to shop for their favorite ROCK STAR! You Rock JILL, you never cease to amaze me.

Jill, I find it amazing that

Jill, I find it amazing that You went with all in the family. How great is that? You are teaching your kids to love (or at least like) Kiss and their music..

I'm a big Elvis fan (huge huge )plus I didn't know how much I like Michael Jackson's music until he died...so my kids have shared the love that I have for Elvis since they can remember..they can be anywhere and hear an Elvis song (even if somebody else is singing it) they will call it out with pride and tell me that's an Elvis song.
recently, after MC died - I began to listen to his music over and over..the kids finally started asking me about it..we watched lots of videos in youtube... I feel that sharing the love you have in specific music with your kids creates a nice bond..something that will make them think of you. I'm so happy to sit here and read about your day and see in the picture not just you and the hubby but also all your kids in it. You trully Rock!

Family

Oh, it's rare that the kids DON'T go with us to things like this. And, they genuinely do enjoy KISS -- you haven't lived until you've heard all three of them belt out "Do You Love Me" or "Shout it Out Loud" in perfect unison. :)

And KISS is easy for kids to "get." There are so many toys that they can identify with & readily know who all the guys in the band are..! Our little guys have KISS rubber duckies for the bath, KISS action figures, KISS teddy bears... and they just got their KISS Mr. Potato Heads last night too, which they played with all day today.

Wait until the "KISS Korners" hit Wal-Mart in a couple weeks... every store will have an entire section devoted to the band. We're never going to be able to get out of there without buying KISS M&Ms or something...

Kiss Korner?

Is this going to be like they did with all the Aerosmith stuff not too long ago?

Yes
