I remember trying the bogo store/coupon thing and I'm not sure what it was for I think it was the fannie may ice cream at jewel. I don't even remember what the clerk had said but it pretty much came down to I had to pay for at least one. Has anyone had the same problem? For them to finally cave in? Or were you like me and just gave up and got the heezie up out of the store?
next time e-mail corporate and they'll get back with the store although sometimes you have to reply to the e-mail asking the status if it's been a few days with no response. They'll have the store contact you with an apology and offer to make it right.
The manager I had a problem with was actually in charge of customer service and didn't know the policy. He originally said I'd have to bring 4 to the register. That way in his mind I'd be paying for two (the other two are free from the store deal) and a BOGO coupon would make one of those two free. So, you'd pay for one and three would be free with his incorrect interpretation of policy.
is it would be free if you have a BOGO coupon and the store is also running a BOGO deal, you'd only pay tax. Many of their managers don't know the policy however.
Walgreens (varies by store and employee) and Dominicks (their official policy) is no BOGO coupon with a store BOGO deal. They consider the free item as one coupons aren't to be used against.
Two Jewel employees, one of whom was a manager and should know better, in South Elgin (Randall Road) tried to tell me I couldn't use the coupons this way, and actually told me that would be like walking out of the store with the food and not paying for it. Yeah, I got the heezie out all right. Wrote a letter to Jewel which they never responded to, or its follow-ups. HOWEVER, the coupons do actually work that way and other Jewels have confirmed that. I suggest that you just keep trying, with a BOGO coupon + a BOGO sale or + a BOGO Jewel Q, you should get two free. By the way, I got a raincheck on the Fannie May, had 5 BOGO coupons, and finally got 10 free pints about four weeks after the sale. That cashier was in awe! I, however, also have a few extra pounds to lose as a result ;-{
I did get tons of it free with the good intention of sharing but it was so good that I ate all of it myself. I found out that you CAN eat a whole pint at one time. I have almost managed to lose the weight I gained and now I won't even go near those Breyers deals because I might like that too.
