$15/$30 deals for Thursday

So I am looking for the best deals I can for Thursday. I am looking at mixing and matching various items that I need. You will need to find the exact item that is the list of the other thread for the 15/30 items. http://www.magnetic-media.com/jill/node/6131

I have found the Following.
Scott paper Towels for $1.29. Hopefully they get some back in stock. There is a $1.00 coupon if you buy 4

Knorr Sides: they are $.99(preferred price) There is a $1.00 coupon if you buy 3. (http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qjgkels94981912&bt=vi&o=58845&c...)

Betty Crocker box potatos: $1.69 (PP) There are $.40 coupons They let you print lots of them before a max is reached.

Betty Crocker Frosting: $1.69(PP) there is a coupon for $.50.

Betty Crocker Cookie Mix: $1.69(PP) There is a $.40 coupon

Chex Mix: $1.69(PP) There is a $.50 coupon.

Progresso Soup: $1.49. There is a $1.10 coupon on a purchase of 3.

Make sure you use the right price when tallying upto $30.00. Do not use the preferred price(PP).

I would like to finnd the following coupons to make these deals better.

Betty Crocker cake mix
Totino's pizza rolls
Skippy Peanut butter
hellmanns mayonaise
Wishbone salad dressing
Betty Crocker Brownie mix
I also found a $.55 coupon for Cherrios. This is also a eligible item. Not sure what the store price will be if it is worth purchasing.

So now to do some tallying to see what are the best deals with the coupons.. I only wish I knew the regular or sale price to figure out how may of what to get to $30.00. I guess i will have to do that in the store..

I have watch the DVD several times and read everything on the website and now feel somewhat comfortable at the store. I appreciate everyones comments and have learned many ways to be a curtious, smart shopper.
I found the prices change on the Knorr side dishes and Breyer's ice cream overnight. Fri. night I did my shopping and then Sat. morning before work I thought I would pick up some ice cream and Chex Mix for my co-workers (and a couple more items to get 30/15 deal) and use my cats from Fri. I did not get any cats back so I studied my reciept in my car and realized that the ice cream and Knorr before preferred price was different that what was on the shelf price. Our store does not have a scanner nor do we have self checkout lanes.
I was so careful to add (with paper & pencil) each shelf price but again, another lesson learned. I did not return any item and am greatful for the savings I have already experienced.

Cat's did not stack..

I went to the Jewel in Libertyville over the weekend and purchased my 16 rolls of papaer tolls and the $15.00 CAT printed fine.. I then went back and bought a mix and match of other items. for around $67.00 I scanned my card last and did a tally before i got to the register. I made suremy total before tax was over $60.00 For some reason I only got $15.00 in CATS. I know I did everything right and even checked every UPC code.. I'm wondering if what happened was at first the CAT didn't scan as I was paying and she entered it in as grocery. I told her no don't do that and she reversed it. I'm wondering if her going through the motion of doing this actually spoiled the deal.. Anyway, I asked CS and he didn't know but he was happy to give me my additional $15.00 in CATS. So i got lucky but I don't think I will stack the deal anymore. It would of made returnning stuff that much harder..

So far over the last week, I got $400.00 in preferred price groceries($600 regular) for only $50.00. I'm doing pretty good..

Yup,

once its done its DONE. Happened to me the other day as well. I saw she was having trouble scanning and told her whatever you do, dont enter it as grocery...she must of heard "just enter it as grocery".

Regular

The regular price. But please remember that if the deal doesn't work on that price, you have no recourse. The ad says $30 preferred price, so if there's a problem, you can't get Catalina or customer service involved. Other than to just return the items. And remember if you are going to return food, always do it before you leave the store so they don't have to throw it away.

Add up the prices...

first check the upc to make sure you are getting the right one..

I think the regular price was $2.99 but your store may have it as a different price so check the price on the shelf. Use the lowest price. As Jill suggests scan it first to see if there is a sale price which might be lower.. But lets asume the $2.99. You have to get over $30.00, so 30.00/2.99 = 10.03 since it is over 10 you need to buy 11 peanut butter. 2.99 x 11 = $32.89
the preferred price is $1.99 so you will pay 1.99 x 11 = $21.89 and get back $15.00 in Cats. If you have manufacturer coupons it makes the deal sweeter.. but I couldn't find any..

So now if your sale or shelf price is $2.69 you will need to buy 30/2.69 11.15 units or round up to 12. When doing these for the first time add an extra for good luck...

I made 3 trips to Jewel today...

I got about $300.00 in groceries and mad a net profit of $30.00. I had no out of pocket expense... I'd like to think I'm a black belt now.. My last receiept was, I purchased ~$92.00 in items, Used ~$80.00 in coupons and preferred prices and paid $12.00 and got back $45.00 in catalina's. My other purchases were similar..

I was mixing and matching al kinds of items on the list and running a tally on my phone. I also had alot of coupons for everything I bought.. I'm going back tomorrow for Cheerios and Soup.

Does this kind of thing happen alot? These items that were getting Catalina's for, when would be the next time they would offer these deals?

I wonder what the next items will be...

May I ask how you had no OOP expense when the tax can't be paid for by Cats? I'm curious, because I'm wondering if you are counting the Cats you had at the end in your net. Are you going to post what you bought? It sounds great.

my cats paid for tax

on my hellmann's order. Tax was .40 and I paid down my total to .34 with cats. I know you can't do that at Wag's, but I've done it plenty of times at Jewel.

At Jewel this morning when I bought my $20 in Scotts a hour ago ,I know that their is almost a $2 tax charge :( But thr cashier seen I had 2 $10 cats, And took them leaving me with a balance of
.15 cents I was surprised but no problems .
Don't want to do a no no . So whats the deal with taxes ??

I am counting the cats in my net.

I had my $50.00 in CATS from the icecream on Saturday and had $10.00 from the Walgreens makeup deal

So my first purchase was: 32 rolls of paper towels, used $8.00 in coupons and used $20.00 in Cats. My total was $12.41 and I recieved $30.00 in Cats.

My second purchase which was a combination of Lipton rice sides, Chex Mix, Wishbone salad dressings, Betty Crocker Potatos, Cookie mix, cake mix, frosting , 5 more paper towels, Mayo, and some items not in the deal, but Bertoli Olive oil,(Jewel had a coupon, and I hada manufacturer coupon. and Tide. Jewel had $5.00 coupon for tide and I had another $1.00 coupon
I gave them $70.00 in Cats, $24.10 in coupons. My preferred savings were $31.60 for a total OOP of $17.78 and then got $45.00 in Cats. my receipt says coupons tendered were $125.70..
My third purchase(I don't have the receipt in front of me) contained basically the same stuff and totino's pizza rolls and penut butter. was a OOP of $12.00 while receiving another $45.00 in Cats.

The one thing I am doing while I am tallying up the prices on my phone is when I got to $90.00, I threw a couple of extra items in for good luck to get me to $95.00.. I know on my third purchase I got lucky to go over $90 because I thought I was at $95.00 and I was really at $90.57.. So somewhere my math was wrong or i double counted something, but anyway I got my CATS....

This is awesome.. Back today... for soup and cheerios. The soup wasn't on sale at my Jewel. It was still a $1.99 and today its $1.49 and I have lots of $1.10 coupon on 3. I have $.50 coupons on the cheerios

Sometimes we get alot of these types of deals one right after the other. And then there are times we go weeks with nothing. If you dont get something you wanted or needed, this deal will come around again but probably not for a few months. But there will be other deals to be had.

BC Potatoes...

box or pouch? I was reading the UPC list and from what I can tell it is the pouches in the box which I understand to be the two bags in a box versus the individual pouches not in a box.
I could be wrong so if someone has the list, read it and confirm it. The ad only shows the box which is the specialty potatoes.
I only noticed it because I was going through the wording on the Qs I have. Thanks.
