My local Big M grocery store advertised Birdseye Steamfresh Meals for Two as Buy one get one. I had a BE coupon for Buy one get one free. I had a hard time trying to figure this out so I asked the store manager. He said that with the coupon I would get two packages at no cost to me. Was this correct, or was there another way to figure out a BOGO coupon combined with a BOGO store ad.
You pay tax if any on the items
but the items are free.
Think of it this way:
This confused me for so long, but here's how it was finally explained to me that made sense:
That coupon has a maximum value written on it. (For the sake of conversation, lets say it is $1 and that is the price of the veggies too.) If you were a 'regular' shopper and you walked in with a 1 dollar bill, you'd walk out with 2 veggies. That coupon has a value of $1, so it is the same as a $1 bill. Walk in with coupon and walk out with 2 veggies! How's that?
That is correct
You are paying for one, getting one free with the store sale. Then your coupon will take off the price of one package, which is all you were being charged in the first place.
Thus "buying none, getting two free" as Jill puts it!
