"What happened to your blog?"

1100+ emails later and a phone that never stopped ringing gave me a very big reminder just how many people read the blog every day. I love my blog too, and I knew over 5,000 of you read it daily... but today, a good portion of my readers were left hanging when they tried to visit their favorite coupon hangout on the web.

Last night's Super-Couponing class in Huntley was BIG!

The class, sponsored by the Grafton Township Food Pantry, took place at the Cosman Cultural Center at the Huntley Park District. Over 260 people attended this class and learned how to save big on groceries! It was a fantastic, fun community event for everyone involved too. A big thanks to John Rossi and the staff of the Grafton Township Food Pantry for their continued work in our community too.

When I filmed last week's segment with Fox News, they also filmed part of my pantry, which didn't make the cut in the piece that aired. But so many of you emailed asking to see what it looked like... so here's the current state of my pantry!

He and his lovely wife have each been making a trip to Jewel every day after work this week to buy soup for their local food pantry, which has been hit hard lately. They stressed that this was bought at several different stores, 10 cans at a time, and they did not clean out any one store. So many people will be able to eat meals because of their generosity! And it did not cost them a thing. :)

This morning I went shopping with Fox 32 News in Chicago as part of an upcoming segment about saving on your grocery bill. I was so thrilled to shop at Jewel today, my favorite store -- and in my hometown location, no less. :) It was a fabulous trip with lots of great deals and savings! A big thanks to Mark and the fantastic staff at the Huntley Jewel, as well as Jewel's corporate for allowing us to film in the store today, and Sondra & the great crew at Fox as well. The segment will air Wednesday, February 11th in the 9:00am hour and repeated throughout the day as well.

Super-Couponing 2: Saving on Everything came to Huntley in a BIG way tonight... I don't have a final count on attendees, but it was over 250. And, in a Super-Couponing first, the neighbors called the police on us. Due to the large numbers of people parked in the street, some of the class attendees found themselves with a very unwelcome "bonus" after class... a parking ticket. However, there is a bright side.
